Chicken and Mushroom Pie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 dash of Wooworths Homebrand Pepper Black Ground
  • 1 dash of Woolworths Homebrand Table Salt
  • 1 shell of Woolworths Homebrand Puff Pastry Sheets
  • 1 dough disc
  • 1 medium-size onion (chopped)
  • Minced garlic
  • 800 grams of cream of mushroom soup
  • 50 grams of Woolworth’s Fresh Mushrooms Sliced Prepack
  • Chicken meat (cut)
  • 1 tsp of Woolworths Homebrand Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 300 degree Farenheit.
  • 2. In a large pan heat the olive oil.
  • 3. Fry the meat for ten minutes.
  • 4. Add mushrooms.
  • 5. Add seasoning to taste.
  • 6. Continue to fry until the chicken and mushrooms turn golden brown.
  • 7. Lift both from the pan and set aside.
  • 8. On the same pan, saute onions and garlic for 2 minutes or until they turn soft.
  • 9. Set aside along with the mushrooms and chicken. Put two cups of the mushroom soup in the pan.
  • 10. Add the fried mushrooms, chicken and sauteed garlic and onions.
  • 11. Bring to boil.
  • 12. Season the mixture with table salt and black pepper. The mixture serves as your pie’s filling.
  • 13. Add fillings into the shell of puff pastry and cover it with the dough disc.
  • 14. Brush the top of the pie with milk.
  • 15. Place the pie in the preheated oven.
  • 16. Let it sit there until the pie turns golden brown.
  • 17. Serve with mash potatoes.
